QUICK Pickled Onions

  • …is that you should start using pickled onions. This isn't an original recipe β€” if you google pickled onions you'll see a thousand recipes similar to this online, but this recipe needs a place on this blog because I need you to know that you can make pickled onions.  If you already do - high five.  If you don't, read on!


    Pickled onions become a beautiful vibrant pink color.  They add an amazing burst of color to your dish and a huge pop of flavor.  Having them on-hand in your fridge is a must.  Throw them on salads, tacos, sandwiches, or a random breakfast bowl to elevate your dish effortlessly.

  • 1 mason jar

    1 red onion sliced as thinly as you desire

    1tsp sugar

    White vinegar (but apple cider vinegar can work too)

    Water

    Salt & pepper

    1. Stuff all of the red onion slices into your mason jar.

    2. Add the sugar and as many grinds of salt and pepper as you desire.

    3. Pour vinegar into the jar to about 1/3 the height of the jar, fill the rest with water. 

    4. Close the jar, shake and wait at least 30 mins to enjoy but the onions will keep for a week or two!
